From the City’s Crime Summary:

Armed Robbery

On 03/05/2007, at approximately 7:43 p.m., officers responded to the Bank of America at 22 North Summit Avenue for an armed robbery that had just occurred. Initial investigation revealed that as the evening teller was leaving the building, she was approached by a black male suspect who was brandishing a pistol. The teller was forced back into the building where the suspect was able to obtain an undisclosed amount of cash from the day’s business. A second suspect waited at the top of the parking lot, then both fled in the suspect vehicle.

Suspect 1: Black male, age 20-25, 5′09″-6′01″, 160-180 lbs, wearing a gray hooded jacket and dark jeans.

Suspect 2: Black male, age 20-25, 5′09″-6′01″, 160-180 lbs, wearing a short sleeved, plaid, button-down shirt and dark jeans.

Possible suspect vehicle: Older model light blue Toyota Camry.

Also listed in the Crime Summary, yesterday there were reports of one commercial and one residential burglary. The commercial burglary was at the Zodiac Express on Diamond Ave in Olde Towne:

Burglary

03/04/07 between 1:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. unknown suspect(s) entered 109 E. Diamond Avenue by breaking the front door glass. Items of clothing were removed.

In addition, in an effort to catch up with some crime reports that I hadn’t gotten around to posting late last week, I should mention the availability of the District 6 crime report for 2/20 - 2/28. The report summary lists one rape, three robberies, two aggravated assaults, two commercial burglaries, a dozen residential burglaries, eleven thefts from vehicles, eight stolen vehicles and one sex offense. I note these in particular:

An aggravated assault occurred on Thursday 2/22 at 0825 hours, at Crown Farm Drive & Watch Hill Lane. The victim was watching her child (who is a school safety patrol) assist in getting other children on the school bus while it was stopped. The suspect passed the bus and almost hit the victim’s child. The victim confronted the suspect who got out of the vehicle and threatened to run over the victim. The suspect did strike the victim in the legs with his vehicle and then drove off.

Suspect: B/M, 25-35 yrs. old, 150-170 lbs

Vehicle: silver ’91 Audi, VA/tags

A ’95 Plymouth Neon was taken from the 700 block of Quince Orchard Boulevard on Saturday 2/24 at 0102 hours. The suspect was at a party at this residence and told friends he was going to steal a ’04 Jeep Wrangler that belonged to one of the party guests. The owner of that vehicle went outside and found his vehicle with a punched door lock and ignition. He also found the suspect punching the lock of a ’94 Honda Civic and the victim hit the suspect, who fled on foot and then took a ’95 Plymouth Neon. As officers were responding to the call, the suspect drove off at a high rate of speed before losing control and hitting the median at 779 Quince Orchard Boulevard, where he was arrested. The suspect had a screwdriver and a rock in his pocket that he used to punch the vehicle locks and ignition. This suspect has a long history of similar auto thefts.

Defendant: Matthew Sateri, W/M, 20 yrs. old, 5’6”/140 lbs., has priors for burglary, theft and auto theft, of 9115 Quintana Drive (2D)

An armed robbery occurred by the playground on Standard Court on Wednesday 2/21 at 1730 hours. The suspects demanded the victim’s IPod and one suspect displayed a three-to-four inch curved knife and demanded the victim’s cell phone. They decided not to take it when the victim told them it did not work. One suspect called the other ‘Danny’.

Suspect: Danny, H6/M, 16-18 yrs. old, 5’7” -5’8”/140-150 lbs., sideburns, grey hooded sweatshirt, jeans

Suspect: H/M, 16-18 yrs. old, 5’7”-5’9”/140-150 lbs., grey zippered sweatshirt, jeans

And last but most certainly not least:

On Friday 2/23 at 0745 hours a victim left his ’03 Chevrolet Tracker running unattended at on Topfield Drive and came out to find the vehicle gone. At 1000 hours, the victim saw the suspects in his vehicle and he rammed the vehicle at Mid-County Highway and Shady Grove Road where they bailed out and were arrested nearby. The second suspect has been arrested for auto theft three times since 2/8.

Defendant: Jose Ramos, H/M, 18 yrs. old, 6’/200 lbs., of 17703 Topfield Drive

Defendant: Juvenile, H/M, 16 yrs. old, 5’9”/130 lbs.,
