Burglary

On 05/07/07, between 7:00 a.m. and 8:30 p.m., unknown suspect(s) broke a window and entered an apartment in the 100 block of Duvall Lane. Jewelry and cash were taken. Investigation to continue.

Duvall Lane is off West Deer Park Road, near I-270.

Attempted Strong Arm Robbery

On 05/06/07, at approximately 5:00 p.m., in the 300 block of Muddy Branch Road, the victim was approached by a subject who attempted to forcibly take her purse. The victim resisted and the suspect fled on foot toward West Deer Park Road.

Suspect: Black male, early 20s, 6′ 0″, 180 lbs, wearing a black t-shirt and black jeans.

Strong Arm Robbery

On 05/06/07, at approximately 4:30 p.m., there was a domestic dispute in the 400 block of Christopher Avenue. The male subject took the victim’s purse and contents, during a struggle, and fled the area. Suspect is known by the victim and charges are pending.

Burglary

Sometime between 3:00 p.m. on 04/27/07 and 11:00 a.m. on 04/30/07 suspects gained entry to 600 S. Frederick Avenue by smashing a lower window and then removed computer equipment.

Attempted Armed Robbery

On 04/29/07, at 8:54 p.m., there was an attempted armed robbery in the unit block of North Summit Avenue. The victim was approached by six subjects. One of the subjects produced a handgun and demanded money. The victim ran and was shot once in the abdomen with what is believed to be a pellet gun. There was no serious injury and no property was taken.

Suspect #1- Black male, 16-18 yrs old, 6′-0″, 130-145 lbs with a short hair cut. He was wearing a black shirt and black jeans. The shirt had an unknown type of art work on the front. He was armed with a handgun which was possibly a pellet gun.

Suspect # 2-6: All were black males, 16-18 years of age, 6′-0″ with short haircuts.

District 6 Crime Report for 05/02/07

In summary, and according to last week’s report from District 6 for the period from 4/24/07 to 5/2/07, there were four robberies, three aggravated assaults, two commercial and seven residential burglaries, eight thefts from vehicles, ten stolen vehicles, and one sex offense.

  • A strong-armed robbery occurred in front of Bowl America, 1101 Clopper Road on Tuesday 4/24 at 1700 hours. The suspects approached the victim as she was walking and one asked her if she had a boyfriend. The victim replied that she did and kept walking. The suspect slapped the victim and took her jacket. Both suspects fled towards Orchard Pond apartments where the victim saw them later sitting on a porch in the complex. The victim waited several hours to report the incident.

    Suspect: B/M, 17-19 yrs. old, corn rowed hair, black T-shirt, jeans

  • A strong-armed robbery occurred at 18400 block of Lost Knife Circle on Tuesday 4/24 at 2345 hours. The 6th District SAT team saw the suspects standing around and on top of the victim. They took his wallet and fled on foot but were arrested nearby. The last suspect had the victim’s wallet in his pocket along with a baggie of MDMA pills.

    Defendant: Robert Jackson, B/M, 20 yrs. old, 6’4”/285 lbs., black T-shirt, black & red shoes, has priors for robbery, theft and assault, of 18511 Owl Run Way (5D)

    Defendant: Antoine Blake, AKA David Sims, B/M, 20 yrs. old, 6’2”/170 lbs., black & red baseball cap, black jacket, priors for burglary, assault, resisting arrest, of 12459 Quail Woods Drive (5D)

    Defendant: Hipausanna Ipalook, B/M, 19 yrs. old, 5’10”/190 lbs., black hat, white tank top, blue jeans, of 13519 Collingwood Terrace (4D)

    Defendant: Aaron Rogers, B/M, 18 yrs. old, 5’8”/150 lbs., blue ‘Warren Moon’ jersey, jeans, of 13519 Collingwood Terrace (4D)

  • Officers responded to the area of 20211 Goshen Road for a stabbing on Thursday 4/26 at 1856 hours. The victim went inside of a residence where officers talked to him. He was disheveled and had blood on his pants, with a small puncture wound. He insisted it was a fist fight, not a stabbing but there were inconsistencies in his story. The suspect was stopped nearby but no knife was found.

  • A 5-year-old victim was shot in the chest with a BB gun on Fifeshire Court on Saturday 4/28 at 1412 hours. The victim was not seriously hurt. A witness saw the suspect shooting a BB gun at vehicle and other objects. Investigation is continuing. A residential burglary occurred at 9429 Horizon Run Road on Tuesday, 4/24 at 1500 hours. A witness saw the suspect exiting the victim’s residence, carrying some ‘wires’, and then going into his own residence. The victim went to the suspect’s house and a resident there gave him some of his property back. The juvenile suspect was later arrested.

    Fifeshire Court is between Goshen and Lost Knife Roads, north of Odendhal.

  • An armed attempted robbery occurred at the Beauty Pro shop, 9645 Lost Knife Road on Friday 4/27, at 1137 hours. The suspect entered and approached the counter. He lifted his shirt to show a gun in his waistband. He asked about products in the store, then left and went next door to the Game Stop store. He was arrested and the gun turned out to be a CO2 BB gun which he was carrying so he could “look cool”.

    Suspect: Neal McDonald, B/M, 19 yrs. old, 6’1”/200 lbs., homeless, priors for burglary and theft

  • An attempted armed robbery occurred at the Gaithersburg Elementary School, 35 N. Summit Drive, on Sunday 4/29 at 2044 hours. The suspects attacked the victim and shot him with a pellet gun. The suspects were last seen running towards E. Diamond Avenue. Possible suspects were stopped in on Lost Knife Road; see the R1 beat brief.

    Suspects: six B/M’s, all 16-18 yrs. old, 6’/130-145 lbs., one with a picture on his shirt

  • Officers were in the area of Lost Knife Road and Contour Road on Sunday 4/29 at 2232 hours, and saw suspect who matched the descriptions of suspects involved in a robbery at Gaithersburg Elementary School. The suspect fled on foot but was arrested nearby. Just prior to his arrest, he was seen throwing a gun as he ran. A black Highpoint semi-automatic 9MM handgun was recovered. He also had a baggie of marijuana on him.

    Defendant: Richard Tarpeh, B/M, 21 yrs. old, 5’10”/195 lbs., priors for CDS, of 18715 Pierpoint Place

  • Officers made a traffic stop on 4/24 at 1830 hours, at 374 N. Summit Avenue. The suspect admitted he had no license and was arrested. A fully loaded 9mm Interarms Walther model PPK, was found in the glove box.

    Defendant: Eliseo Hernandez-Bonilla, 6/M, 20 yrs. old, 5’6”/127 lbs., of 374 N. Summit Avenue

    Vehicle: white Mitsubishi Eclipse, MD/tags

  • An indecent exposure occurred at the store Two Left Feet, 217 Market Street W, on Thursday 4/26, at 2036 hours. The suspect opened the door to the store, exposed his penis, and then got into the passenger side of the suspect vehicle. The vehicle was last seen driving towards the Kentlands. According to MVA the registered owner of the vehicle is a H/M from Charles County, MD.

    Suspect: B/M, dredlocks, Orioles baseball cap, bright blue shirt, in a ‘superman’ style, with a marijuana leaf instead of the ‘S’ on the front

  • The Custom Wireless store, 19336 N. Montgomery Village Avenue was broken into between 0300 hours and 0506 hours on Tuesday 4/24. Officers saw the suspects pushing a grocery cart on N. Frederick Avenue. The cart was filled with two boxes of multiple cell phones. Officers discovered the broken window in the business and realized the phones were from there. The suspects had an axe in the cart and had cut the phone and alarm wires. They claimed there was a third suspect involved, but no further information is available.

    Defendant: Juvenile, H/M, 14 yrs. old, 5’6”/125 lbs., of 19500 block of Frederick Road

  • A burglary at a vacant residence occurred at 10142 Ridgeline Drive on Thursday 4/26 between 0030 and 0827 hours. The house is being renovated and the victim found the front door kicked open. Two weeks prior to this the victim found a B/M (NFD) sleeping inside and the suspect fled towards the Montgomery Village 7-11.

    Ridgeline Drive parallels Club House Road, between Watkins Mill Road and Montgomery Village Ave.

  • In the burglary at 9231 Broadwater Drive on Sunday 4/29 between 1200 and 2200 hours, the suspect is possibly the victim’s nephew. Entry was made into the house using a spare key that is kept outside. The suspect is currently listed as a runaway and is aware of the location of the key.

    Suspect: Juvenile, H/M, 14-15 yrs. old, 5’4”-5’5”/130-135” lbs., NFD

    Broadwater Drive is north of Centerway, near the intersection with Goshen Rd.

  • Officers responded to Frenchton Place on Friday 4/27 at 1600 hours for a suspicious subject. The subject has been seen sitting under a tree and hanging out in the area in the last few months. A few weeks prior to this, the subject knocked on a citizen’s door and asked for a ride. He also had approached two 8-year-old boys on this date. The subject is a registered sex offender Tarren Dikes, B/M, 35 yrs. old, 5’7”/185-200 lbs., mustache, of 14003 Arctic Avenue (4D). His probation officer will be notified of this incident.

    Frenchton Place is a network of cul de sacs off Stedwick Road, west of Watkins Mill Road.

  • Officers responded to Brassie Way on Monday 4/30 at 0130 hours for the sound of several gunshots. A citizen heard what she thought was firecrackers and saw multiple H/M’s (NFD) walking to and from a vehicle. The citizen videotaped the suspects and showed it to the officer. The tape showed a H/M carrying a black possible rifle-type gun. The subject went to a nearby apartment and the citizen heard a popping noise and then nothing. The officer noted that the video tape also showed a possible CDS deal.

    Brassie Way is a cul de sac near Club House Road, east of Montgomery Village Ave.

  • There were three thefts from vehicles in the Washingtonian/Rio area

    • 4/25 WED 2100-2355 hrs. 9811 Washingtonian Boulevard Rio Mall Unlocked doors, took purse, cash ($220), camera and house keys.

    • 4/28-4/29 SAT-SUN 2240-0035 hrs. 211 Rio Boulevard by the Macaroni Grill Unknown entry, took a computer, bag, cell phone and 2 CD’s.

    • 4/29 SUN 1300-1455 hrs. 9811 Washingtonian Boulevard Rio Mall Unknown entry through the window, took a GPS unit.

  • There were two graffiti vandalisms between Saturday 4/28 and Sunday 4/29. At least one of them is gang-related.

    • 1900-1100 hrs. Treyford Terrace Red spray paint was used to draw a star on the victim’s window.

    • 1200-1700 hrs. 18200 block of Cobbs Hill Place The letters “V.P.B: were spray painted on the victim’s vehicle and sidewalk.

    Treyford Terrace is just east of Countour Road, near Odendhal. As far as I know there is no “Cobbs Hill Place”, but that may be a typo; Copps Hill Place is right next to Treyford Terrace.
