In April, for example, the day labor center placed 130 workers through about 60 employers. The next month saw much higher participation as center staff tallied 596 daily job placements and 208 new employers.
Upcounty Regional Services Director Catherine Matthews said that for the most part, the workers are coming to the center from around Gaithersburg, with a few originating in Rockville and Germantown.
I thought, from previous County statements, that all the day laborers lived in Gaithersburg.
