The County has finally released the District 6 report from last week. It again is pretty short. Either crime is easing up for the Fall or they’re just telling us about less of it. The writing also appears to be a bit more terse than what we’ve been used to.

  • A sexual assault occurred in the 9900 block of Forest View Place in Montgomery Village on Sunday 9/9 between 2:00 AM and 3:00 AM and involved an acquaintance.
    Suspect: H/M, 18 years, long black hair

    Forest View Place is near Apple Ridge & Montgomery Village Avenue

  • An armed robbery occurred on Monday 9/10 at 9:30 PM, an adult male was stabbed by one of a group of five B/Ms, 16-18 years, all thin and in dark clothing. Victim assaulted, property taken.

    This report is notable in that we are given no information about the location, other than that it happened in the R1 beat. The R1 Beat is roughly to the east of MD355 from about Maryland Ave up to Travis, including Lakeforest, much of Montgomery Village up to Centerway, and the area bounded by Goshen up to Snouffer School, Snouffer school down to a jog on Centerway over to Strawberry Knoll, Strawberry Knoll and Emory Grove back to Goshen, and Goshen back to Park Ave & N. Summit:

  • Three related robberies occurred along Muddy Branch Road in Gaithersburg on Friday 9/7

    • West Side/Muddy Branch at 5:00 AM; armed robbery: displayed weapon (gun), property taken
    • 303 Palm Spring Dr at 6:25; strong-armed robbery: victim assaulted, property taken
    • Muddy Branch/Palm Spring Dr at 6:30 AM; strong-armed robbery: victim assaulted, property taken
      Suspect: B/M 17 to 21 years, 5’6’ to 5’8”, black clothing

    Palmspring Drive is a little south of West Side Drive.

  • A strong-armed robbery occurred when a juvenile was assaulted by five juveniles (no race or ages given) at Watkins Mill Road and Windbrooke Drive in Montgomery Village on Friday 9/7 at 3:30 PM and had his property taken.

    Suspect 4: male, red jersey, red and yellow shorts
    Suspect 5: male (NFD)

    Windbrooke Drive is between Travis and Stedwick.

  • Three residential burglaries occurred in Gaithersburg during this time frame.

    • Thur 9/6 8:00 AM - 9:30 AM 520 blk Carousel Court Forced entry, property taken.
    • Thur 9/6 8:30 AM - 10:05 AM Unit blk St. Ives Place Forced entry, property taken.
    • Fri 9/7 5:45AM - 9:35 PM Unit blk North Glade Court No force, property taken.

    These addresses are all in the Girard/Kelly Park/Victory Farm Drive/Saybrooke Oaks/Gaithersburg Middle School area.

  • Two thefts from autos occurred from Hondas parked in the 15700 block of Mahogany Circle in the Rio area of Gaithersburg between Thursday 9/6 and Friday 9/7. Forced entry, property taken.

  • A theft from auto occurred from a Honda parked in the 17060 block of King James Way in Gaithersburg between Monday 9/10 and Tuesday 9/11.

    King James Way is in the tringle formed by Muddy Branch, W. Diamond and I-270.

  • Three theft from autos occurred in the 800 block of Clopper Road in Gaithersburg between Monday 9/10 at 7:50 PM and Tuesday 9/11 at 7:00 AM. GPS and other property taken.

  • A commercial burglary occurred on Tuesday 9/4 at 2:35 AM at the Rent-A-Center at 18266 Contour Road in Montgomery Village. Forced entry, property taken.

    Contour Road goes around behind the Safeway & Marshalls/Trader Joes shopping centers opposite Lakeforest.

  • Three thefts from autos occurred in the Deer Park neighborhood in Gaithersburg

    • 9/5 Wed 0000-0600 600 blk Poplarwood Pl Entry gained; nothing taken
    • 9/9 Sun 0000-0600 200 blk Oakton Road Entry gained, property taken
    • 9/9 Sun 0000-0600 100 blk Oakton Road Entry gained, property taken

    These addresses are on the east side of MD355.

  • Three thefts from autos occurred on Tuesday 9/11 between 1:00 AM and 5:00 AM. Three Hondas in the 400 block of Girard Street in Gaithersburg were broken into and had airbags removed.

  • A residential burglary occurred Sunday 9/9 between 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM in the 7540 block of Cinnabar Terrace in the Hadley Farm area of Gaithersburg. No forced entry, property taken.

    Suspect: B/M 14 to 15 years, 5’2”
