Update: Police Release Composite of Suspect From Rape in Gaithersburg Hotel
Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division – Homicide/Sex Section are continuing to investigate a rape that occurred on Saturday, December 22, 2007, in a Gaithersburg hotel. They now have a computer-created composite resembling the suspect to release to the public.The suspect is described as a light-skinned black male, 5’8” tall, with a medium build, 22 to 25 years of age. At the time of the assault he was wearing a black knit cap, light blue and white camouflaged-patterned shirt and dark pants.
On Saturday, December 22 at approximately 9:45 a.m., 6th District and Gaithersburg Police officers responded to the Gaithersburg Holiday Inn at 2 Montgomery Village Avenue in Gaithersburg for the report of a rape that had just occurred. A 50-year-old female, who is a member of the housekeeping staff, entered a room to clean it. She was physically assaulted and raped by an unknown man. After the rape, the suspect fled. The victim notified co-workers who in turn called police.
