P1 Beat:

  • An attempted armed robbery occurred in the parking lot of the Festival Shopping Center located at 221 Muddy Branch Road in Gaithersburg, on Thursday, 5/15 around 12:30 a.m. An adult male was approached by two male suspects who asked for money and then began hitting the victim with a stick and large rock. Nothing was obtained and both suspects fled on foot towards West Side Drive.

P2 Beat:

  • A commercial burglary occurred at Firstfield Beer & Wine located at 511 Quince Orchard Road in Gaithersburg, on Friday, 5/16 around 2:30 a.m. Forced entry, property was removed.
    Suspect: unknown/M ski mask, black hoodie, all black clothing, gloves
  • A school burglary occurred at Rachel Carson Elementary located at 100 Tschiffely Square Road in Gaithersburg, on Monday, 5/19 just after midnight. Three juvenile suspects forced entry and removed property. The suspects, 2 male and 1 female were charged as juveniles.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 112500 block of Carrington Hill Drive in Gaithersburg sometime between Wednesday, 5/14 and Tuesday, 5/20. Forced entry, no property was removed.

R1 Beat:

  • An attempted strong-arm robbery occurred at the Lakeforest Transit Center located at 9650 Lost Knife Road in Gaithersburg, on Saturday, 5/17 around 9:20 p.m. Three suspects approached the victim and asked him about gang afiliation. When the victim gave no affiliation, he was struck several times about the head and had to be transported. No property was obtained.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 9300 block of Willow Creek Drive in Gaithersburg sometime between Wednesday, 5/14 and Monday, 5/19. Forced entry, property was removed.
  • A domestic-related aggravated assault occurred on Saturday, 5/17 around 6:30 p.m. in the 9800 block of Walker House Road in Montgomery Village. The victim’s boyfriend held a knife to her throat. A 45 year old male from the same address was arrested.
  • A weapons’ offense occurred inside Macy’s at Lakeforest Mall in Gaithersburg, on Tuesday, 5/20 around 5:00 p.m. A male suspect was arrested for possession of a loaded handgun.
  • Thefts from vehicles:

    Three of the vehicle-related thefts occurred between Tuesday, 5/13 and Thursday, 5/15. Two Hondas had a window pried while a third unknown make vehicle had the convertible top slashed.

R2 Beat:

  • An attempted burglary occurred in the 19600 block of Brassie Place in Montgomery Village on Thursday, 5/15 around noon when the resident caught a subject trying to open her rear glass sliding door. The suspect fled when the resident began yelling.
    Suspect: H/M 18-28, 5’8” to 5’9”, 145-170, black knit cap, blue pants
  • Three different make vehicles had wheels stolen (or attempted) over the reporting period (5/12 through 5/21). Vehicles on Dunbridge, Welbeck, and Mills Choice have had at least one wheel stolen.

S1 Beat:

  • An attempted burglary occurred on Saturday, 5/17 around 11:00 a.m. in the 200 block of Brookes Avenue in Gaithersburg. The resident was home at the time and heard the suspect trying to force open the front door. He was confronted by the resident and immediately fled only to be arrested nearby. A 52-year-old homeless male was arrested.

S2 Beat:

  • A commercial burglary occurred at Seamless Gutters located at 7500 Lindbergh Drive in Gaithersburg, between Friday, 5/16 at 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, 5/17 at 8:30 a.m. A storage container was entered. Forced entry and property was removed.
  • A commercial burglary occurred at the Flower Hill Beer & Wine located at 18253 Flower Hill Way in Gaithersburg on Wednesday, 5/21 around 2:15 a.m. Forced entry and property was removed.
  • Thefts from vehicles continue to be a problem in the Flower Hill areas and beyond. Windows were broken to steal GPS units and any other loose items inside, (to include laptops, cameras, portable radios, etc…)
