Update: Dan Morse writes in the Washington Post, Beloved Waiter Killed Outside Home:
Rarely does one waiter cast his personality across an entire restaurant, but at a burger joint in a mall in Gaithersburg, Longyuan “Mooney” Wang did just that, co-workers said. Customers were known to wait for his tables, even when others were open.
“He taught everybody here not to be afraid of who they were,” said Victoria McConnell, a Red Robin restaurant manager, speaking of Wang’s larger-than-life personality. “Eccentric was an understatement.”
Also, Sebastian Montes writes in the Gazette, Montgomery Village man killed in attempted robbery:
Shortly after 11 p.m., police found Longyuan Wang of the 18000 block of Royal Bonnet Circle — in The Hamptons townhouse community near Odenhal Avenue and Goshen Road — lying unconscious outside the unit block of Fifeshire Court, according to police. Officers performed first aid, but he died at the scene. Wang was nearly home.
‘‘We believe it was a robbery gone bad,” said Diane Tillery, community Services Officer for the 6th District.
