Police Charge Juvenile Suspect as an Adult for Two Armed RobberiesDetectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division — Robbery Section and the 4th District Investigative Section has charged Howard Egba Duncan, age 16, of the 17000 block of Downing Street in Gaithersburg, for two armed robberies.
On May 28 at approximately 2:30 p.m., 4th District officers responded to the area of Amherst Avenue and Reedie Drive in Wheaton, for the report of an armed robbery that had just occurred. The suspect approached two victims on a Ride-On bus and displayed a handgun. He demanded the victim’s cell phone. After obtaining both victims cell phones, the suspect got off the bus and fled on foot in an unknown direction.
Then, on June 1 at approximately 3:12 p.m., 6th District officers responded to the area of Crestwood Drive and North Summit Avenue in Gaithersburg, for the report of an armed robbery of an ice cream truck. The suspect approached the ice cream truck and displayed a handgun. He demanded cash and the victim operating the ice cream truck complied. The suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction.
Through the course of the investigation, Howard Duncan was developed as a suspect in both robberies. Warrants were obtained for Duncan charging him as an adult with two counts of armed robbery. He is currently being held on a $300,000.00 bond.
