Agenda - Mayor and City Council Work Session, 8/10/2009 (Committee Evaluation, Senior Center)

There are two topics in this work session. One is to discuss the current system of volunteer committees; some reorganization of the committees is recommended, along with the imposition of term limits. I’m really not sure about that latter idea — most of the committees run with open seats, so it isn’t clear how they the committees could continue to be effective if they start pushing volunteers away and no one wants to replace them.

The second topic is the report of the Senior Center — now apparently called the “Mature Adult Recreation Center” — committee. The committee’s first choice of a site is at the GE Tech Park, the second choice is at Bohrer Park.

As usual these days, the “Full Meeting Package” contains several letters, emails, announcements and memos not related to the meeting topics, so it is always a good idea to download that and go through it.
